MARCH

A photo of my mother-in-law

Damned month it was March

The joy forever sank

In my hand I put a scotch

Since then it’s my best friend.

.

I lost your sight forever

And I lost your touch

But your eyes I rembember

Oh, I miss you so much.

.

Now that we are apart

I meet you in my dreaming

Sometimes in my heart

I feel like screaming.

.

I hold on to memories

You’ve gone on a long ride

Oh, how deep this pain is

See you on the other side!

Words I think my husband would say to his mom.

We lost her after a long fight to cancer.

I wrote this poem in her loving memory.

Rest in peace angel!
